Spider And Web Crochet Pattern.
Use Spider and Web crochet pattern to make Halloween appliques for spider and spider's web: use them together or separately. Make as many of them as you need in all the colors to spook everybody! :)

The size of a spider is approximately 2 in by 3.5 in (5 1/4 cm by 9 cm) and the size of a web is about 5 in (13 cm) in diameter if you use recommended yarn and hook (you can use smaller hook to make the spider or the web smaller).

Difficulty level of the Spider and web crochet pattern: beginner/intermediate
Recommended crochet hook size: I9 / 5.5 mm - J10 / 6.00 mm
Yarn weight: medium to worsted (weight category # 4). I used Red Heart Super Saver.
Stitches and abbreviations used: CH - chain, SC - single crochet, DC - double crochet, slip stitch
The Spider Halloween Applique Crochet Pattern.

Step 1. CH 3 (make a chain of 3 stitches)

Step 2. Join in a ring with a slip stitch.
|
|
|
Step 3. first row of the spider's body: SC 6 in the ring (make 6 single crochet stitches in the ring). You have 6 stitches after completing of this step.

Step 4. Make 2 SC in each stitch around. Finish with a slip stitch. You will have 12 stitches after completing this step. The body of the spider is ready.

Step 5. The head: CH 2 and make 3 DC in the same stitch, then make a slip stitch in the same stitch.

Step 6. Make another slip stitch in the next stitch of the round body of the spider.
|

|
Step 7. The leg: CH 5 (make a chain of 5 stitches)
|
Step 8. Slip stitch in the second from the hook stitch.
|
|
|
Step 9. Make 3 more slip stitches along the leg.
|
Step 10. Make a slip stitch in the next stitch of the round body of the spider.

Step 11. Start the second leg: CH 5
|
Step 12. Repeat Steps 7-10 for the second leg.

Step 13. Make 2 more legs )Steps 7-10), total is 4 legs.

Step 14. The small tail: Make 2 slip stitches along the round body of the spider.

Step 15. CH 2 (make a chain of 2)

Step 16. Make a slip stitch in the second stitch from the hook (the base of CH 2). In other words, you've just made a picot stitch.

Step 17. Make 2 slip stitches in the round body of the spider.
|
Step 18. CH 5 for the first leg on the other side of the spider's body.
|

Step 19. Repeat the Steps 7-10 for the leg.

Make 3 more legs (Repeat Steps 7-10 3 more times)

The Web Halloween Applique Crochet Pattern.

Step 1. CH 4 (Make a chain of 3 stitches)
|
Step 2. Join this chain in a ring with a slip stitch.
|

|
Step 3. CH 5 (Make a chain of 5 stitches)
|
Step 4. Make a DC (double crochet stitch) in a ring.
|
|
|
Step 5. CH 3 (make a chain of 3 stitches)
|
Step 6. Make a DC in the ring, CH 3.
|
|
|
Repeat Step 6 four (4) more times.
|
Step 7. Slip stitch in the second stitch of the CH 5 (Step 3) to join the end of this row with a beginning of it.

Step 8. CH 8 (make a chain of 8 stitches).
|
Step 9. Make a DC (double crochet stitch) in the DC of the previous row.
|
|
|
Step 10. CH 6 (make a chain of 6 stitches).
|
Step 11. DC in the next DC of the previous row.

Repeat Steps 10-11 for the total of 5 "sectors".

Step 12. Join the row with the slip stitch inthe second stitch of CH 8 (Step 8).

Step 13. CH 11 (make a chain of 11 stitches).

Step 14. Make a DC (double crochet stitch) in the DC of the previous row.

Step 15. CH 2 (make a chain of 2 stitches).

Step 16. Make a slip stitch in the top of the DC of this row.

Step 17. CH 9 (make a chain of 9 stitches).

Repeat Steps 14-17 four (4) more times and join the row with a slip stitch in the second stitch of the CH 11 from Step 13.
