Shamrock Crochet Pattern.

Shamrock Crochet Pattern is a beginner crochet pattern for Irish Clover applique. It is easy and I included the pictures of every step to guide you through the process. Shamrock Crochet pattern (Irish Clover Pattern) is a great way to create holiday decorations such as Saint Patrick's Day or any Irish or floral theme.

The approximate size of a finished Shamrock Crochet Applique is 2in (almost 5 cm) across and 3 in (8 cm) from top to the end of the stem. You can make it smaller using smaller then recommended size crochet hook.

Recommended yarn: medium weight or worsted weight (weight category #4). I used Red Heart Super Saver.

Recommended crochet hook: I9/5.5 mm or J10/6.00 mm

Stitches and abbreviations used: CH - chain, SC - single crochet, DC - double crochet, slip stitch.

CH 3, join in a ring with a slip stitch.

Step 1: CH 2

Step 2: make a DC in the ring, but do not finish it: draw the yarn through 2 loops only once and leave 2 loops on the hook.

Step 3: repeat Step 2.Now you have 3 loops on the hook.

Step 4: Yarn over the hook and draw the yarn through all 3 loops at once.

Step 5: CH 3

Step 6: Slip stitch in the ring. The first petal of the Shamrock Crochet Applique is ready!

Repeat Steps 1-6 for the second petal.

The second petal of the Shamrock Crochet Applique is ready!

Repeat Steps 1-6 one more time for the third petal. You can make 4 petals for the lucky one as well! :)

The stem of the Shamrock Crochet Applique: CH 7

Slip stitch in the 3rd from the hook stitch, and one more slip stitch in the next stitch. Cut off the yarn, weave in the end and the Shamrock Crochet Applique is ready! :)

Note: If you want to make a Shamrock Crochet Applique bigger: make CH 4 instead of CH 3 in Step 1 and Step 5 and TC (treble crochet) instead of DC in Steps 2-3
