Easy crochet pattern for beginners - make Flower Crochet Coasters in no time! Here are 3 types of coasters - Chamomile, Sunflower and the Sun (every flower needs the sun!). Make all of them or make one type only  in many colors to decorate your table in unique and  extravagant manner.

Stitches used: slip stitch, chain, SC - single crochet, DC - double crochet, TC - treble crochet.
Gauge: 8 SC = 2’’, 10 rows = 2’’
Crochet hook US G6 /4mm or size needed to obtain the gauge. (The gauge is not very important though).
Yarn DK or medium weight #3 in white, orange, yellow, brown or colors of your choice.

NOTE:

SC 2 (the # of stitches is AFTER the stitch's abbreviation) means: make two single crochet stitches in two stitches of the previous row.

2SC (the # of stitches is BEFORE the stitch's abbreviation) means: make two single crochet stitches in one stitch (increase).

                                        THE CENTER.

All 3 coasters have the same center, difference only in colors and petals.

The center is worked in continuous rounds. Do not join with a slip stitch at the end of each round, and do not turn at the
beginning of each round. Use a stitch marker to indicate the beginning of the round, and move the marker up as work
progresses. I use a small safety pin.

Step 1: CH 4, join in a ring with a slip stitch

Step 2: SC 10 in the ring

Step #3: [SC in next SC, 2 SC in the next SC] repeat [  ] 5 times. In the end you will have 15 SC.

Step #4: [SC 2, 2 SC in the next SC] repeat [  ] 5 times. You will have 20 SC.

Step #5: [SC 3, 2 SC in the next SC] repeat [  ] 5 times. You will have 25 SC.

Step #6: [SC 4, 2 SC in the next SC] repeat [  ] 5 times. You will have 30 SC.

Step #7: [SC 5, 2 SC in the next SC] repeat [  ] 5 times. You will have 35 SC.

Step # 8: [SC 6, 2 SC in the next SC] repeat [  ] 5 times. You will have 40 SC.

Step #9: [SC 7, 2 SC in the next SC] repeat [  ] 5 times. You will have 45 SC.

Cut off the yarn and secure and hide the end.

Congratulations! You’ve finished the center! It must be the flat circle with a diameter 3 ½ - 3 ¾ inches . Steam it with iron to flatten if it has a little ruffle.

Second row: into each arc (NOT into the stitches of the chain): single crochet, 5 double crochets, single crochet.

Mouth: Using yarn of the contrast color make a chain of approx. 10 stitches for the mouse. When cut off the tread leave approximately 11 in (28 cm) to sew the mouse to the center. Eyes: make two rounds as you did for the center – repeat steps 1 to 2 (make only 1 round of single crochets). Leave approximately 11 inches (28 cm) or less of the
tread and sew the eyes to the center.
