The Flat Daisy Flower is a beginner crochet pattern - easy and fast.

Recommended yarn: medium weight or worsted weight (weight category #4). I used Red Heart Super Saver.

Recommended crochet hook: I9/5.5 mm or J10/6.00 mm

Stitches and abbreviations used: CH - chain, SC - single crochet, DC - double crochet, slip stitch.

You can make the Daisy Flower in one color or in two different colors for the center and the petals . Approximate size of the ready Daisy is 2 inches (5.1 cm) in diameter.

The Center of the Flower:

Step 1. CH 3 (make a chain of 3 stitches)

Step 3. SC 6 in the ring (make 6 single crochet stitches in the center of the ring ) and finish with a slip stitch. This is the center of the flower.

Step 2. Join this chain in a ring with a slip stitch

Step 4. Attach the yarn for the petals (orange yarn in the picture)

If you use the same color for the petals - skip Step 4 and go to Step 5

The Petals of the Flower:

Step 5. First petal: CH 3 (make a chain of 3 stitches)

Step 6. Make a DC (Double Crochet) in the same stitch of the center of the flower as the base of the CH 3). Do not finish this DC, leave 2 loops on the hook.

Step 7. Make another DC (double crochet stitch) in the same place and do not finish it,( i.e. draw the yarn through 2 loops only once) - now you have 3 loops on your crochet hook

Step 8. Repeat Step 7 one more time: make a DC in the same stitch and do not finish it(draw the yarn through 2 loops only once) and now you have 4 loops on your hook.

Step 9. Yarn over the crochet hook and draw the yarn through all 4 loops you have on your hook.

Step 10. Make a slip stitch in the next following stitch of the center of the flower. The first petal is ready.

Step 11. The second petal: repeat steps 5-10 for the next petal.
Make 4 more petals (total number of petals should be 6)

The last petal and the ready crochet daisy flower.

NOTE: You can change the pattern a little and make more or less then 6 petals for the flower. The number of petals equals to the number of Single Crochet stitches (SCs) you make in the ring in the Step 3 (for example, 5 SCs for 5 petals, 7 SCs for 7 petals).
