Crochet Flower Patterns - My Favorite Collection

Flowers are beautiful. I have a lot of crochet flower patterns. This is my prized and favorite collection and i am adding more and more free patterns to it. You can use crochet flowers for the brooches, for the headbands and barrettes, as a key charm or as a jewelry or as a home decor - the possibilities are endless. Crochet flowers are also a key element of the most advanced crochet technique - Irish lace, when you make different size and shape separate flowers and join them together with chain stitches forming a mesh or a web. So even if you are an advanced crocheter - you can find here some ideas and crochet flower patterns you don't have. :)

How to crochet a flower? There are so many different flowers but all of them have the same basic principles. If you learn them you can make any kind of flower you want. First of all, the crochet flower can be flat, or 1 -tiered, and multi-tiered. Flat flowers are easier for the beginners and make a great applique. And every flower has center and petals. First you have to make a round center and then the petals (the number and the shape of the petals vary) - this is the first tier. If you wish to add dimension, make another layer of petals (usually up to 3 layers).

Crochet flowers may look complicated but it is easier then it looks to make one. Just follow the crochet flower pattern, check and compare your results with the pictures in the pattern along the way and great results guaranteed :)

Flat (One Layer) Crochet Flowers Patterns

Flat Crochet Flowers are flowers that have only 1 layer (one tier). They can be thin or puffy but they have only one layer of petals. Flat crochet flowers are easier for beginners and if you just started to crochet i recommend to try these crochet flower patterns first.

Multi-Layered Crochet Flower Patterns.

Multi-layered crochet flowers are little more complicated than the single-layered ones - the main task is how to attach the second (the third and more) layer of petals. Usually you have to create arcs of DC (SC, TC) stitches and chains and then make petals in these arcs.

Just a tip: you can create 2-3 layered flower making separate flat flowers slightly different in size and then "assemble" them into one flower.
