Crochet Bun Cover

Here is the classic crochet bun cover. It is very simple crochet pattern, easy even for beginners, you can make it fast in your favorite color! You can add beads to it if you wish or use any novelty or beaded yarn instead of recommended yarn - be creative and have fun! :)


Difficulty level: Beginner

Recommended yarn: medium weight or worsted weight (weight category #4). I used Red Heart Super Saver.



Recommended crochet hook: I9/5.5 mm or J10/6.00 mm

Stitches and abbreviations used: CH - chain, SC - single crochet, DC - double crochet, slip stitch.

CH 3, join in a ring with a slip stitch.

Row #1: CH 3.

Row #1continued: DC in the ring

Row #1 continued: CH 1,[ DC in the ring, CH 1] repeat [ ] 4 more times , slip stitch. You should have 6 DC stitches in this row (CH 3 counts as a DC).

Row #2: CH 3, [2DC in the DC of the previous row, CH 1]. Repeat [ ] 5 more times, slip stitch. You should have 12 DC stitches in this row (CH 3 counts as a DC).



Rows #3-4: CH 3, [DC, CH 1]. Repeat [ ] 11 more times around the row, slip stitch at the end of the row. You should have 12 DC stitches in each row (CH 3 counts as a DC).

Row #3 in pictures: make a Dc in the DC from the previous row and CH 1 above the CH 1 of the previous row : the resulting mesh will be neat.

If you make a crochet cover for the big bun - make one or 2 more rows like the Row #4 or Row #4.
